Current Agenda Status
  • Public Hearing
    • Makes evidence about sexual behavior or predisposition inadmissible in civil proceeding except under certain circumstances.
    • Extends sunset on provision authorizing Department of Human Services to appear as party in juvenile court proceeding without appearance of Attorney General.
    • Directs Oregon Criminal Justice Commission to study imposition of fees in criminal cases and report results to interim committees of Legislative Assembly related to judiciary on or before February 1, 2019.
    • Directs Oregon Criminal Justice Commission to study recidivism rates of sex offenders and report results to interim committees of Legislative Assembly related to judiciary on or before February 1, 2019.
  • Work Session
    • Renames offense of operating motor vehicle while using mobile communication device as offense of operating motor vehicle while using mobile electronic device.
    • Renames crime of intimidation as bias crime.
    • Directs Department of Corrections to establish by rule community service exchange program for person to enter into agreement with community-based organization to perform community service in lieu of payment for delinquent fees or debts and supervision fees.
    • Establishes Advance Directive Rules Adoption Committee for purpose of adopting form of advance directive to be used in this state.
    • Eliminates probationary driver permits.
    • Authorizes Department of Corrections to collect portion of certain moneys in inmate trust account for transitional fund and payment of court-ordered financial obligations.
    • CARRIED OVER FROM THE 4/10/17 AGENDA: Authorizes Long Term Care Ombudsman to petition for protective order regarding resident in long term care facility, residential facility or adult foster home when ombudsman believes resident who is subject of petition is in need of protective order.
      SB 59 A will not be heard Tuesday, April 11. It is scheduled for the sole purpose of being carried over to the Wednesday, April 12 agenda.
    • CARRIED OVER FROM THE 4/10/17 AGENDA: Requires certain securities professionals to report suspected financial exploitation of vulnerable persons to Department of Consumer and Business Services.
      SB 95 A will not be heard Tuesday, April 11. It is scheduled for the sole purpose of being carried over to the Wednesday, April 12 agenda.
    • CARRIED OVER FROM THE 4/10/17 AGENDA: Directs Oregon Criminal Justice Commission to study expenditure of public moneys on alcohol and drug treatment and report results to interim committees of Legislative Assembly related to judiciary on or before September 15, 2019.
      SB 1041 will not be heard Tuesday, April 11. It is scheduled for the sole purpose of being carried over to the Wednesday, April 12 agenda.

    • Note change: SB 59 A, SB 95 A and SB 1041 have been carried over. SB 1042 has been removed.
