Bill Title:
Relating to all-terrain vehicles.
Catchline/Summary:
Phases in, beginning January 1, 2009, modified requirements, prohibitions and penalties for operation of Class I and Class III all-terrain vehicles on public lands. Phases in, beginning January 1, 2009, modified requirements, prohibitions and penalties for operation of Class I and Class III all-terrain vehicles on public lands. Defines "public lands."
Creates offense of endangering Class I all-terrain vehicle operator. Punishes violation by maximum fine of $180.
Requires persons under 18 years of age to fasten chin strap on helmet when operating or riding on all-terrain vehicle.
Exempts from certain requirements all-terrain vehicles used exclusively in farming, agricultural, forestry, nursery or Christmas tree growing operations and being used on land owned or leased by owner of vehicle.
